The food that we tried was very good. I like that they have a whole side that you can actually sit and eat at tables. The only reason I have them 4 stars was that I wish they had a menu in English instead of one that includes pictures. They are very nice in trying to help you decide what you want to eat.

Nothing fancy but awesome authentic Mexican food, delicious!!

Great food. I try to eat here at least once a week. Awesome prices too. They have slowly crept up, but are still better than trying to get food at a fancy Mexican franchise. There is a decent wait at times, only because the line is often to or out the door. They also have a grocery store inside. I have not purchased anything from there, I'm usually there for the amazing restaurant food. The only negative I can think of is some of the crazy customers that might try to take your food when they call out your order. Its a self serve wait service. No waiters or waitresses.

I absolutely love the food and prices here. My regular order is chicken chimichanga (no onions or cheese), w/ beans and rice. I love the white sauce they include, as well as some limes and mild sauce from the salsa bar. I love that they make everything fresh, and they are quick.

First time there today. My coworkers highly recommend them so I went to pick us all up lunch. They had no problem with 3 separate orders. Got me out fast and the food was great. We had tamales and tacos. Most topping come on the side so make sure you stop by the side bar for limes, radish, hot sauces, peppers and such.

Excellent. The hostess was very nice, and helpful. The kitchen was very clean and efficient. My meal was prepared to order, quickly, and tasted very good. I was grateful for an excellent meal.

This is the best place that I know around our area. Very recommended if you like freshly made food.

I love the food and they're always friendly. If you're looking for a quick visit it isn't for you. They're busy and it takes some time. It's worth the wait. I highly recommend this family friendly local place.

Three words: OH MY GOODNESS! The food was so good, great portions, and very filling. It can get very busy very quick but worth the wait! Enjoy your meal with the locals and shop when you're done.

If you are looking for authentic MexicN this is the place to go in Highlands County. Food is served quick, portions are great, prices are very reasonable.

Hands down, thr best Mexican food within three counties. I have never had a bad experience with customer service or their food. Always excellent.

The food is good! Very authentic. However, they are not friendly to non-Hispanics. I've visited several times on a variety of occasions & with different servers but same service. I only continued to visit because the food is good but after realizing this must be company rule I discontinued buying there! Even the owner short is rude. Not worth it!

So if your not spanish it may seem intimidating but if you step out of your comfort zone and start an order you will find that they are more than willing to translate and help you. The food is amazing!!! This is where I plan on taking guest that visit me from out of town!

I've been to Mexico a couple of times and the food at Merlos is just like in Mexico. The seasoning is just right and very affordable! Four ppl can eat her for less than 30 bucks and be stuffed! It's my go to place when we come and visit my in-laws. Try the tacos al pastor, tortas de asada, tostadas etc...

If you want truly authentic Mexican food this is the place to go. That being said it is located inside of a grocery store, not fancy, you order at a counter and it is cooked up fresh and quickly. It is a limited menu, the cashier speaks fluent English. Take a little stroll around the grocery store it's very interesting. We have traveled extensively through Mexico and found this to be a nice place to have a quick lunch.

Tamales had no filling Brought back should have just gotten refund but got more tamales they had meat but also full of bay leaves so now I can’t stop throwing up.Worst experience ever, will not stray from Merlos again.

Amazing food! Casual environment with a "where the locals go" feeling. Have a great little shopping area attached. Can get anything from chicken feet to jalapenos to Mexican cheese. Great produce selection!

I've been eating here for years and of all the places I've traveled and tried Mexican food, this one is one of my favorites. It is 100% my favorite in highlands County! It has a friendly/clean atmosphere. Excellent food! Nice grocery store and customer service. It can be pretty PACKED with costumers at some times during the day but obviously that's because the news is out that this place rocks!

My favorite place to get breakfast is Taqueria. Great variety of maxican food there. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Neat and clean tables. Great place to bring the family.

Great authentic Mexican food. All the vegetables are super fresh and it shows on their final product. Parking sometimes is a bit of a challenge since the place is always buzzing. Service is fast and food is ready in no time.
